Monday Night Footplay

Rose was pretty lonely. She was pushing the big 50 into the next decade wayyyyy too quickly. She wasnt unattractive in fact she was fairly beartiful. She wasnt really sagging. She had a little 'droop'; then of course she couldnt danse. She was no danseur. She was a secretary. Top notch of course and well paid. But since Bill had left her for a younger woman, she was alone. Lonely. Eleanor Rigby alone. Darning her socks in the night when theres nobody there. She saw the ad in the Houston Chronicle...."Salsa nights" come and dance the blues away! Sunday night. She had dinner at "Houston" and then off down Central Ave to the hall....

Bought three more books today. One on Origen, one on Eusebius, and one on Clement of Alexandria. Jes wanted to git a better picture of their positions. Hopefully they will have facts in them, real translated statements that I can point to and say..."There. It is written."
I read Mencken but I taste the bitterness of loneliness in his position. He said he was full of laughter. wellllll........... He's ded nah. So he's basically full of dust. It'll be 50 years since they buried him in 2006. But he was sharp and not afraid to say the truth as he saw it. I bought the books I bought because he quotes them. And they were the ancient church fathers.
Did Mencken read the greek? He boldly said that 1st Peters epistle was cruder greek than 2nd Peter. But he could have read that that was so. But he says he was a theologian So maybe he read some of the ancient manuscripts. But he was also a newspaper reporter. And they glean the facts from testimony quite frequently.
I'm STILL not interested in life after death. Im interested in Life after birth. I feel like I've got it. But in the last days of my stay here on the planet.....
